Product Description

Chinese Sculpture

This okimono is an elegant young woman who has just caught a fish with her fishing rod.

Perhaps it is a reinterpretation of one of the most common figurations of the goddess Guanyin namely Guanyin with fish. The most common representations present her with a basket of fish or sitting on a giant fish.

Guanyin is a bodhisattva associated with compassion in Buddhism and is considered immortal in Taoism. Guanyin has female traits throughout Asia except in India.

Delivery worldwide.

This okimono is visible in our Bordeaux store, 64 rue Notre-Dame, 33000 Bordeaux.
