Product Description


Blue, green and red female lion of in Shiwan sandstone. The lioness has the left front dough resting on her little one to protect it. The city of Shiwan, located north of Hong Kong, is famous for its ceramics since the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties, it flourished in the Ming (1368 – 1644) and Qing (1644 – 1912) periods ).

The lions of Fo were placed in front of the entrances of houses or public buildings to protect the places from evil spirits.
